Admission to Tucson International Academy (TIA) is not based upon ethnicity, national origin, gender, income level, disabling condition, proficiency in the English language or athletic ability. TIA is an Arizona Charter School which is wholly funded by the State of Arizona and other government and private grants, which means that our students do not pay any tuition or fees. Even books and school supplies are provided for all students- free of charge.
Tucson International Academy School District has an open enrollment process that admits all students. If more students enroll than our maximum number of students possible, we will implement a lottery system for student admission. All returning students and siblings of existing students will be admitted first. All remaining students enrolling will be placed in a lottery drawing by class so teacher- to -student ratios can be maintained. If the lottery drawing is necessary, it will take place exactly 2 weeks before the first day of school in the presence of 3 or more witnesses. Notification of the drawing will be given to all new students enrolled both before and after the drawing.
